An accredited investor in Canada is someone who meets at least one of the following criteria:

  • An annual income of $200,000 individually, or $300,000 combined with a spouse
  • Net financial assets (excluding the primary residence) of at least $1 million
  • Net assets of at least $5 million
U.S. Accredited Investor Disclaimer

An accredited investor in the United States, as defined by the SEC, must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • An individual income of $200,000 or joint income of $300,000 with a spouse in each of the last two years, with a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year
  • A net worth exceeding $1 million, excluding the value of the primary residence
  • Certain professional certifications, designations, or credentials, such as Series 7, 65, or 82 licenses
